    Glennis was 14 and "coltish and smiled with her whole face." She was pretty much in charge of keeping 9 year-old Harris in line. As a "mother in training," Glennis usually used her hand to get Harris' attention. She would smack the fire out of him whenever she felt he needed to be corrected. She was self-confident, assertive, and proud.
