HU Slang
Know the slang, know the school. The following is a list of things you really need to know before coming to HU. The more of these words you know, the better off you'll be.
Bebe– A friend, either male or female.
Hamptonian– Peoplefrom Hampton or Hampton University alumni.
Joint– Can be an adjective, a noun—referring to a place or a girl—or an inanimate object.
Jumpoff– An exciting place or a nice–looking female.
Juking– Dancing.
What's poppin?– Equivalent to what's up or what's going on.
