    Incoming freshmen are required to take eight classes their first year--five from the five different schools of thought and three electives. The five schools of thought are cognitive science, social science, interdisciplinary arts, the humanities, and natural science. Students have a lot of room to choose within these schools of thought. An interdisciplinary art could be stage design or french, for example.
