Is Hamlet insane, or he is he merely in a state of grief and distress? The reason for my question is that not only am I writing a 8-10 page research paper on this topic, but I am also desperately wanting to hear other people's views on this. Your answers are much appreciated. Posted by anber on Apr 1, 2008. |

Hamlet is going insane and we are able to jump into his mind and see the play through a 1st person perspective told in a 3rd person narrative structure. What we see is only going on in the mind of Hamlet, and that is what we have to judge as insane by what we (catharsis) experience throughout play. Posted by bguill on Apr 5, 2008. |

how do you all think that Hamlet's madness affected other minor characters like Laertes, Ophelia, Polonious, Gertrude, and Claudius? Posted by porterj on May 28, 2008. |
