    Greek life at Hamilton is a little different from Greek life at other schools. At Hamilton, the sororities are not nationally recognized, nor do they have houses. Approximately 19% of women participate in these. There are 5 different sororities plus a few 'secret societies' as well. The school also has 9 fraternities. These fraternities are nationally recognized, but like the sororities do not have houses. The lack of housing for the Greeks creates a sort of fractured social life, but the school ahs attempted to make this better by providing ample "social spaces" which can be rented to host parties, events, fundraisers, concerts, etc.
