Greek life at Hamilton is a little different from Greek life at other schools. At Hamilton, the sororities are not nationally recognized, nor do they have houses. Approximately 19% of women participate in these. There are 5 different sororities plus a few 'secret societies' as well. The school also has 9 fraternities. There aren't any classes that are specifically required. Instead, students are required to take 3 Writing Intensive classes (WIs). WIs are classes (in every field of study) which emphasize writing drafts, editing your own paper, peer reviewing, submitting, and then revising papers. You can take math WIs, Econ WIs, any field of study in general. You must complete them before you go abroad Junior Year (though you can get special permission.)...
