In chapters 20 to 35 of Great Expectations, why dosen't the convict who gave Pip the one-pound notes realize that Pip is on the same coach with him?

    Pip has changed so much since that time that the convict doesn't recognize him. It is through the conversation between the two convicts that Pip learns that it was the convict who had given him the one-pound notes.
