Calvin: Think about the elements of a hero's journey - can they be found in "A Good Man is Hard to Find?"

For instance, one of the main features of a hero's journey is that it is a circular journey: the hero returns to where he started from, this time an enlightened individual.  He has grown physically, psychologically, emotionally, or spiritually. This circular journey does not have to be a physical one in that the hero returns to the same physical place. For example, the hero can also return to a psychological place or an emotional place.

Do any of the characters in "A Good Man is Hard to Find" complete a circular journey? Or could it be that the story is an example of a failed hero's journey?
