    Its hard to say, as the question is somewhat vague.  Resources could refer to emotional support, or to financial support.  Based on the story, I assume the question refers to emotional support.  Therefore, his relationship with Alice is a resource, because she is like him, self-effacing and very giving.  It provides him with support knowing that he is not alone in his beliefs and priorities.
