While there are obviously more differences than similarities, the people do live in "family" units, and not all children in our society live with their biological parents, either. The kids go to school. People seem to live in what would be a small-town setting. Some would say that there are more similarities than that--the expectation that babies should be perfect, for example. While we don't kill the ones that aren't, there are certainly fetuses aborted when they are found to have abnormalities--and in some places, if they are the "wrong" sex.
