I want to hear what you have to say. Honestly I thought It was confusing im still trying to find out if its set in the past or present. Let me hear what you thing. Rather you have questions, connections, things you thought were important in chapter 3. Also word you didnt know until now in chapter3.

The book is set in an unknown time and place. The community may be of our world, or it may be on another planet or another dimension for all we know. As it is, I don't know if it's important to place the story in a specific setting, other than understanding how Jonas' community operates, and understanding that once, people lived as we do, as we can tell from the memories that Jonas receives. This is why many people tend to think that the story is set in the future, and that the human race has moved into a more communistic/utopian/egalitarian society model, and has left behind war and differences.
