    The entire story is a list of instructions and admonitions on the how to take care of the home, the food, the man, and etc. It seems to be an endless catalogue of a woman's life. The title "Girl" then could represent the fact that it's not one specific girl but all girls of that culture who have such responsibilities. It could also represent the mother's voice as she doesn't have time for sentimental foolishness.
