How is the housing situation both on and off-campus? Is it easy or difficult to find housing? Posted by enotes on Aug 28, 2008. |

The on-campus housing office does not have a good reputation with students. Most everyone I know has had a negative or neutral experience with Housing, and frustration is common. As far as the actual facilities are concerned, most dorm rooms are nicer than average (with the possible exception of Darnall Hall, a freshman dorm) and on-campus apartments are also very good. Most seniors and some juniors choose to live off-campus in 4- to 7- person townhouses near campus (north, in the Burleith neighborhood, or east of campus, in West Georgetown). Rent is high ($1000 per person per month is almost universal) and the properties are not always in the best condition. The University does not mediate between students and landlords and the process of finding a place is not an easy one. Posted by angryrhyno335 on Sep 3, 2008. |
