Rhyolite is a member of granite family, being an igneous, extrusive rock.

Pumice, is a vesicular rhyolite and is the result of an explosive erruption, when  two simultaneous actions happen, rapid cooling and depressurization.

Obsidian is also a rhyolite, and is a result of a rapid cooling process.

Halite - rock salt, not a member of the granite family.
