School Spirit

While Furman students may not have as much school spirit as students at other schools, most are still full of Furman pride. Most sporting events have low turn-outs, but the football games are the place to be on fall weekends. The fraternity and sorority members usually dress up, and others proudly wear their purple and white. However, we are not the most dedicated fans, as the student section has often emptied by the fourth quarter. But with an acronym like FU, it's not difficult to have school spirit. Students can't wait for the cheerleaders to lead them in their favorite school cheer: “FU one time! FU two times! …” Well, you get the idea.
