    Mrs. Granger is defined through her love of language and her stringent nature.  Nick, who has been defined by his ability to disrupt classrooms and teachers, decides to challenge Mrs. Granger at the start of the year.  He recognizes that striking at Mrs. Granger's most precious love would be an excellent opportunity to defeat her.  He decides to do this by asking Mrs. Granger from where all the words in the dictionary come.  He figures that such a destabilizing question will undermine Mrs. Granger.  This is not the case as the wily veteran teacher flips it on Nick by making it a special assignment when Nick is told to deliver an oral report on the topic.
