Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican painter who lived from 1907-1954, known for her Mexican folk art with vibrant colors and elements of surrealism. As a young woman she suffered injuries in a traffic accident and her paintings are largely autobiographical, depicting this pain and suffering. She was married to Diego Rivera, who was a famous Mexican artist, and his work greatly influenced her own.
