    Victor Frankenstein meets his creation, the monster, at the summit of the Swiss mountain. There, in the seas and crevices of snow and ice he confronts his creation--the maker meets his offspring. The meeting takes place in the alps because Shelley was trying to impart a sublime mood to the encounter.
