The theraputic vibrations of being in Nature allow Victor to feel at peace, a feeling he does not experience when he is working on his experiments or dealing with the results of his "worK". At Elizabeth's insistance, he escapes to the mountains where he can feel healed of all the stress he is facing. Elizabeth does not know the cause of his distress; she is concerned for his well-being, and so speaks to Victor about the healing powers of Nature. Victor would much rather hide out in Nature than deal with the creature... much like "overmedicating". However, the theraputic qualities are diminished when he runs into the creature in the mountains and is then faced with an ultimatum to make a mate for the creature.
