Biographer Ann Thwaite cites the claim that Little Lord Fauntleroy changed “relationships between America and Britain” as well as the dress styles and even the emotional health of countless young boys of the day. How did she do that? Do you agree?

What about other Children`s books? Did they have similar effects?

This is a neat discussion topic.  I don't have any real facts or stats to back up my opinion, but I would venture to say yes, these stories did influence fashion and emotional health of the readers.  All literature does, as does TV, movies, and the media.  I remember wanting "strawberry blonde hair" like Nancy Drew and I had sparkly red shoes like Dorothy and a light blue satin jacket with Shawn Cassidy on the back as a teenager.  These things do make an impact.
