When Golding says that Ralph “was overcome with astonishment. He found himself understanding the wearisomeness of this life, where every path was an improvisation, and a considerable part of one’s waking life was spent watching ones feet.” Is it that he has grown tired of having to think like an adult, and at that, not only an adult. An adult who is put an an unfavourable situation and must improvise without the complete cooperation of his peers? Or is it more elaborate than that? Posted by korrow on Jul 21, 2008. |
