A major implication of Schlosser's work and argument is that the consumption and dependence on fast food has been reexamined.  American consumers have sought to demand more changes in fast food producing industries.  Some of these changes are greater options that represented a more health conscious choice on the menu of the fast food restaurant.  Additionally, smaller portions are being featured on menus, and the notion of "supersizing" is not embraced nor widely advertised at such restaurants.  Legislation is being considered for fast food restaurants to post the serving size and nutrition facts within each meal or item on the menu.  Schlosser's argument helped to call on more individuals to demand greater change in the approach of fast food restaurants in how their product is advertised to the public.
