Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming to FIT

SUNY schools have general education requirements, so students at FIT have to complete all 10 general education courses—including basic communication, arts, math, humanities, science, foreign language, social science, other world civilizations, western civilization, and American history—before you can graduate with a degree from FIT.

A lot of students dress to impress (FIT is very image conscious).

FIT is more of a commuter school.

Campus life lacks here compared to other colleges.

Learn the layout of New York City and the subway system as soon as possible.

FIT offers internship and study abroad opportunities that aren't available anywhere else.
