We can get a good idea of rebellion from Clarisse and her family. They don't immerse themselves in the TV walls or the ear radios. They spend their nights gathered around immersed in meaningful conversation with each other. Clarisse walks, for no reason other than to be deeply observant of her surroundings. She asks questions, for example when she spoke with Montag the first night and asked him if he was happy. A person could also rebel by reading the banned literature and emitting emotion other than the appearance of happiness. A person can be sad or truly joyful which are emotions which have been almost entirely snuffed out. A person can seek knowledge beyond facts and figures. A person can rebel by breaking out of whatever position they have been stereotyped into. Montag looks like a fireman therefore he becomes a fireman, but a person can try to break that mold in an act of rebellion. Rebellion in this society can be a wide range of acts.
