Fahrenheit 451

What are some good quotes about books in "Fahrenheit 451"?

Here's one from the first part of the book: "Do you ever read any of the books you burn?"
He laughed. "That's against the law!"
"Oh. Of course."

It shows the power of books, and the society's attitude: to laugh at the suggestion of reading the  books.

Here's another from later, in the third section:

"Some day the load we're carrying with us may help someone. But even when we had the books on hand, a long time ago, we didn't use what we got out of them. We went right on insulting the dead. We went right on spitting in the graves of all the poor ones who died before us."

 This is about the hope of those who memorize the books.

Some of the quotes about books (not from books) that I like are: "You can't ever have my books." - spoken by the woman who burned with her house and books

"And if there is something here, just one little thing out of a whole mess of things, maybe we can pass it on to someone else." - spoken by Montag to his wife in reference to the books he hid in their house

"Maybe the books can get us half out of the cave.  They just might stop us from making the same damn insane mistakes." - Montag again talking to his wife

"This book has pores. It has features." - Faber talking to Montag about what is missing from life

"The books are to remind us what asses and fools we are." - Faber still talking to Montag about the importance of books

"Someday the load we're carrying with us may help someone." - spoken by Granger to Montag as the group of book people are on the move.  Granger is referring to the book that each person carries in his head.

This book is full of great imagery.  Books are presented as both the enemy of man and the salvation of man at the same time.  

"What traitors books can be! You think they're backing you up, and they turn on you. Others can use them, too, and there you are, lost in the middle of the moor, in a great welter of nouns and verbs and adjectives."
