Examine the relationship Montag has with his wife. There is enough emptiness that he already experiences, but this alienation seems to increase each time he is with Millie, whom he sees as nothing more than a tool of the establishment. This is proven with her dependence on the television serials, almost as if they are her real family over anything else.
