   This is strictly a personal opinion. It depends on whether you feel promises to the dead(her mother), duty to family(her father), or the right to make your own choices are most important.

   Personally, I think she should have left with Frank. She had no rights in the house, she gave over her paycheck, cooked, cleaned, and lived with a cruel man who used to beat her mother.

   It is a risk to leave with Frank, but all relationships require risks.In the end, she would have been doing something for herself.

   As to the choice she made, guilt seems to rule her life, and obviously she couldn't live with herself if she left.
