The Story:
It was a cold St. Agnes’ Eve—so cold that the owl with all its feathers shivered, so cold that the old Beadsman’s fingers were numb as he told his rosary and said his prayers. Passing by the sculptured figures of the dead, he felt sorry for them in their icy graves. As he walked through the chapel door, he could hear the sound of music coming from the castle hall.
