Question:
Can give implovement suggestions for speech that I have made?
My professor wants us to make a 3-minute speech about homeschooling as a very good alternative to public and private schooling.. I have made a speech already but when I tried reciting it, it only took me 1 1/2 minutes.. so can anyone please add a few more sentences to make it at least 3 minutes? thank you! here is my speech:
"Home school is the best way to address so many concerns that are plaguing our present educational system. As current situations remain, this type of schooling will surely gain more grounds and will further improve to address the apprehensions of parents and school officials as a very effective alternative schooling system. A drawback with home schooling is harnessing the students' social skills as interaction is limited to the immediate family. However, some home school institutions have solved this by doing weekly interactions with other students. There is also the problem that the parents also vary in their own capabilities to teach or impart knowledge, as well as their varied levels of intellect. Perhaps, the parents can undergo some kind of training course to even up the playing field."

You say that homeschooling is the best way to address problems, but you don't give any sort of indication as to what you think the problems are. Do you think the problem is academics? If so, how could homeschooling be superior to the other options? Is the problem with a lack of discipline or because the schools teach the "wrong" sorts of moral values? If so, how can homeschooling help? Surely giving a brief summary of what you think is wrong with the current system and how you think homeschooling could help would be a good idea both in terms of giving you more time and in terms of making your speech more effective.
Good luck!
