Writing an essay, eh? Good topics one and all, but let's focus on school as a factory as an example. As you mentioned, you are going to need some supporting points. How is school like a job? I would suggest looking at the work of Charles Dickens since the image of brutal working conditions are what most people think of when this topic is mentioned.

Some general supporting points to consider. Do you need outside sources? How can the latter resemble the former? How are your two topics alike? How do they evoke one another? I hope this helps.

It's very cynical to view school as a factory, but for purposes of your analogy, are there any similarities? Both work with assembly lines, both have production workers and management, both use quality control measures to meet acceptable standards of production, and both produce products that are useful in society.

And how is a football team like an army? Both wear uniforms, both have leaders who give orders, both have secret codes, and both try to take territory in order to win.

Here are some for you to consider. How is pollution like cancer? How is a videogame like a movie? How is a videogame like an addictive drug?

Of the topics you have listed, I'd go with a career as a marriage. Interesting, because you sometimes hear the adage "She is married to her career" to describe a bachelor working woman. To support the analogy, you could address the idea of lifelong commitment. In today’s working world, it is not reasonable to expect that you would make the commitment to one company for your entire working life, but it is certainly feasible that you could commit to a particular career. In that manner, going from one company to another, while remaining in the same career field, would be similar to a spouse moving from one city to another with the other spouse. Accepting the good along with the bad (“for better or for worse”) is another aspect of marriage commitment that could be applicable to one’s career choice.
