School Spirit

Emory is not a very spirited school, and there are many theories as to why this is, but the prevailing notion is that the lack of a football team gives the students no unifying enjoyment or topic of conversation. Having no sports teams to rally around hurts school spirit, as does apathetic or weak turnouts to fun events like parties, speakers, concerts, and other school events. Some blame the Greek system for segregating students, but no definite reason can be found. Nevertheless, students are proud to go here; they just have to find things other than sports, like their great education, to point to.
