Are there required classes for incoming freshman? What are some examples of these?

    There are required classes for freshman.  Depending on the amount of AP credits you are transferring in you may have to take college writing which is a writing intensive course.  This class covers all parts of the writing process from beginning to end.  

    There is also global studies which is a course on current world events.  This course carries a different dynamic then most courses for the sheer fact that professors from every department teach this class and the professor can teach it however they prefer.  There is no right or wrong way to teach the class.  Personally I had a great global professor who opened my eyes to some of the world's most interesting issues.  This class made my first semester at Elon.  It was a great experience!

    There are also some other required classes like a science and a lab and some kind of math class usually statistics however others are possible.  

    The freshman core at Elon is not very difficult by any means, its more interesting than anything.  I would definitely look at the freshman core at Elon as a plus and not a hassle because it will definitely help you throughout you college career at Elon.
