How is the housing situation both on and off-campus? Is it easy or difficult to find housing?

Housing on campus is very good.  Housing is guaranteed and required for freshman as well as sophomores.  The dorms themselves are much nicer than average for the most part with the exception of two or three buildings (even these buildings are not that bad).  If you have been accepted at Elon and are looking to find out which dorms to try to get in you definitely want to go with the colonnades or the oaks if you can get in.  Otherwise moffitt and staley are great backups.  

Off campus housing is also very nice.  There is generally an excess of housing available.  Compared to other schools the off campus housing is not very expensive at all.  Either way on campus or off campus you can't go wrong.
