Posted by sullymonster on Sunday November 11, 2007 at 11:18 PMBecause the Professor is quiet, reserved, and very private about his life, people find him suspicious. Snyder is demonstrating the nature of humanity, particularly in the negative. Humans struggle to accept and trust what they do not fully understand, or what they feel is "different". Because the community already feels that he is suspicious, when the murders happen, he is a logical suspect, and thus "dangerous".

The professor was thought of as dangerous because nobody knew the professor. He was very quiet and to himself. Kids ran by his store and terorized him and they treated him that way because he was not a well-known sellsman and did not get much buisness.
