quadrant
quadrantA section of a diagram, defined by its direction from the origin. Numbering of quadrants is somewhat arbitrary: a common labelling system is that quadrant I is North and East, that is above and right of the origin; quadrant 2 is North and West; quadrant III is South and West; and quadrant IV is South and East.
