M1A less narrow definition of the money supply. In the UK M1 includes notes and coin in circulation plus private sector current accounts plus deposit accounts transferable by cheque. In the US it includes currency outside the Treasury and Federal Reserve Banks, demand deposits of commercial banks, and other checkable deposits.
