Well, I am not in college anymore, but it wasn't that long ago so I can give you some ideas. First of all, I went to college away from home. It wasn't too far away that I couldn't drive home to visit, but it was far enough away that I was on my own. College life was the BEST experience I have even been through. I learned a lot about life and friends. My mom used to always tell me that the friends I made in college will be the real life long friends, and she was so right. I have 1 or 2 friends from high school, but its those friends I met in college that I know will always be in my life and they are like my family! I think it is important to have internal and external motivations about college. I had my family who I never wanted to disappoint, but I'll tell you going to college and FINISHING was the best choice I ever made on my own. It has given me such a heads up and foot forward in the real world. I have several friends who either didn't go to college or didn't graduate and they are struggling financially. Campus life was GREAT! There was always something to do many times it was something I shouldn't be doing but like I said, I grew up a lot and learned a lot of life lessons that has made me into who I am today. I lived on campus for 2 years and that was a great way to get involved and meet people, but as I got older I needed to get off campus, so my best friend and I moved into an apartment.
