Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming to ECU

Students should not feel like they have to get a job.

Going to class and learning the schedule before classes start are important.

Buy books after the first day of classes.

Plan to go to class the day before fall break and spring break because many professors have tests.

Learning to say no to distractions is important.

New students should carry a campus map until they know where they are supposed to be.

College is not high school. Students are supposed to take notes in class.

It is okay to change courses of study, even several times, and gen-ed classes can help.
