Sexuality is an important element of "Dracula". The obvious sexual link is the fact that Dracula bit Lucy's neck. He also watches her, and has prepared a place for her. While there are sexual undertones in their interactions, the significance of this relationship is that it defines the novel as Gothic. Gothic literature is a story that blends romance and fear. This creates discomfort and tension within the novel.
