Unlike Don't Look Behind You, in which the heroine is threatened by a flesh-and-blood "bad guy," most of Duncan's novels feature psychic phenomena. Summer of Fear (1976) also centers upon an intimidated family, but the threat in this earlier work involves witchcraft.
