    Read the eNotes critical overview (linked below) for some commentary on Nora's actions. It seems that for many critics, her metamorphosis from "the seemingly submissive, flighty woman of the first two acts" into the determined, strong woman of the third act was not plausible.

    In his review, E. Gosse speculates that the fact that Ibsen chose to make a woman so strongly independent was controversial for the time. (See the link below)
