His ode on ‘a Grecian Urn’ was composed in May 1819 and was published in January 1820. He composed this poem being inspired by the English writer Benjamin Haydan. Besides he was quite aware of the Classical Greek art. He is of the opinion about the Greek literature that it is idealistic and enriched with Greek virtues. Apart from it, he was in a great creativity mood by being fallen in love with Fanny Brawne. So this ode is composed under the Greek influence and his intense love that’s why he is addressing it as it were a beautiful woman. It is divided into five stanzas and each stanza consists of ten lines focusing Grecian urn.
