The revival of Frida Kahlo’s reputation as one of the significant artists of the twentieth century began with the publication of Hayden Herrera’s 1983 biography of her and has included numerous assessments of her work, catalogs of her paintings, museum exhibits, and such popular works as a cookbook and a collection of photographs of the artist. This publication of Kahlo’s journal, previously only available to scholars, offers further insight into the final years of her life and work.
