    Those in this area have committed sins against the body and nature. These include Sodomites and alcoholics. Dante encounters his former adviser, Brunetto Latini, here. Brunetto warns Dante that he will not be treated well by the people Of Florence. He cautions him to be persistent, however, and not give up.

    The punishment for sins of the body and nature is perpetual running.
