In a small resort hotel at the Coromandel coast, an assorted group of guests is thrown together for a week. There is an elderly couple, a group of Indian politicians who are arranging the campaign of a local candidate, Krishnan, and especially, a young English couple on their honeymoon. Blaise, the young, handsome diplomat, represents the arrogance and insensitivity of a British colonial upper class.
