Taylor, Peter (Vol. 18) - Introduction
Taylor, Peter 1919–
Taylor is an American novelist, playwright, and short story writer generally associated with the Southern Renaissance. Focusing on middle-class domestic life in the South, he writes dispassionately and cleanly of the burdens of the past. "No one," says Joyce Carol Oates, "writes more beautifully than Peter Taylor of the tensions of love—not erotic love, but love of family, love of tradition."
