A copy of The Naked Society sits in my office. Some people might think it is a collection of dirty pictures. Not at all.

It’s a book written by Vance Packard, the author of three national bestsellers, about the growth of surveillance and the loss of personal freedom. Packard used “naked society” to describe how new technology strips us of our privacy. The book begins with a quote from a famous judge and ends with the Bill of Rights.
