Posted by akannan on Saturday August 22, 2009 at 4:58 AMMoody has seemed to embrace a life away from the prying eyes of others as a result of her activism and her experiences in the Civil Rights Era. Certainly, one can sense the level of raw emotion and passion in her writings, and perhaps this is a reason why she has embraced a level of distance from the public. This is not to dissuade you from tyring to initiate contact, as it is quite worthy. From my queries on the internet, the road of trying to contact her publisher would be the best starting point. I have included some correspondence between students who have sought to either contact her and/ or are discussing the implications of "Coming of Age in Mississippi." Given her massive contribution to the dialogue of rights in America, she might have earned her right to be silent, allowing others such as yourself to carry on the discussion that she began.
