I wish to know what exactly Shakespeare wants to say in the following passage which is taken from "the comedy of errors" ? Please explain.

A wretched soul, bruised with adversity,
We bid be quiet when we hear it cry;
But were we burdened with like weight of pain,
As much or more we should ourselves complain.

    Basically, it means that the suffering of others is hard to hear, but when we suffer, we want others to hear us.
