    The world premiere of this play was at The Crossroads Theatre on March 26, 1986. The cast included the following actors: Arnold Bankston, Olivia Virgil Harper, Robert Jason, Myra Taylor, Vickilyn Reynolds, and Natasha Durant. In October of the same year, the play debuted at the New York Shakespeare Festival. Vickilyn Reynolds was the only member of the original cast to reprise a role. The other actors were Loretta Devine, Tommy Hollis, Reggie Montgomery, and Danitra Vance.
